The report claims that nearly half of women in the College of Medicine experience gender-based hostility from faculty or staff during their time at Penn State.

LEB currently consists of the executive board and roughly three general members attending weekly meetings. Behrend student and senior creative writing major Teegan Hill said she relied on local news coverage for updates regarding weather conditions in her hometown. Hill and her family live in Myrtle Beach, roughly a twelve-hour drive from Behrend.

The Erie Metropolitan Transit Authority (EMTA) is currently in the process of overhauling its Board of Directors, following recent disagreements about ceasing Erie School District bussing. Ultimately, the board decided to continue the service for another year, but this disagreement prompted serious consequences for the board.

A significant amount of the Behrend Student Government’s recent meeting was devoted to a debate surrounding the issue of Proxy Senators. The controversy comes just in time for re-election and replacing the student body’s elected representatives. Proxy Senators are outlined in the Constitution as being, “chosen based on runner-up status of the previous senator elections, at the discretion of the President.”

According to the New York Times, twenty percent of students at four year colleges are food insecure. This means that students are going hungry while studying, which can affect their progress toward their undergraduate degree. The first food bank run by university students was created at Michigan State University in 1993. This past March Penn State Behrend followed suit by creating the Lion’s Pantry. The Lion’s Pantry is a confidential program designed to help alleviate the need of nutritious food and personal hygiene products on campus.

Behrend MBA students are amongst some of best in the nation

A recent assessment by the Educational Testing Service found that students from Behrend’s Black School of Business were in the top 9% of business administration students in the nation. 58 Behrend students took part in the test, and scored an average of 260 points, out of a possible 300. This put Behrend students in the ninety-first percentile for all who took the test.
LEB paints a new picture for evening activiites

Games and Van Gogh, the Lion Entertainment Board’s (LEB) latest event on campus, kicked off on Friday at 11 p.m. The event lasted two hours, and nearly one hundred students attended, according to the LEB. Dr. Noyes, Professor of English and Creative Writing, introduced his former student at the event. It is free to all Penn State Behrend students by obtaining a "E" ride sticker at the RUB desk in Reed Union Building. Many individuals depend on its service to get around, with an annual ridership of 3.4 million in 2014 to 2015. However, Erie Metropolitan Transit Authority ridership has diminished to fewer than 3.1 million rides from 2015 to 2016. Various variables can account for the decline.
