On Friday night, students gathered for the second-midnight bingo of the fall semester.

Midnight bingo is an event put on by the Lion Ambassadors committee. The event pulls in some of the largest crowds for regularly held campus events. The evenings start at 10 p.m. and go until 12 p.m.

Students get to enjoy a mid-evening break to enjoy pizza and beverages.  The program offers students a healthy alternative to blow off steam in a safe environment.

Eliza Greenawalt the public relations chair for lion ambassadors explained that the success of the event can be credited towards the hyped atmosphere and variety of entertainment.

Greenawalt explained that the drawing witnesses who reveal the ball numbers are able to keep the crowd awake and pumped up during games.

Students love the variety given to the bingo games. Players can enjoy several different bingo boards, such as the crowd favorite angry driver, which resembles the middle finger.

Students can also enjoy other boards like four corners and many more. Another student favorite is speed bingo, in which several drawing witnesses call out numbers at rapid speed while students race to fill their boards to win the next prize.

The event which is only held 3 times a semester is always themed for students to dress along too. This Friday’s theme was, “tropical” and many students dressed in Hawaiian shirts and leis’.

Isabella Patula a freshman studying electrical engineering and international business enjoyed her second-midnight bingo.  “I like how towards the end, how competitive it gets” stated Patula when asked what she considered the best part of the evening to be.

The students become more competitive as the evening goes on and the prizes become bigger and more expensive.

Students can get together with friends to discover the next popular event on November 9. The event will again be hosted in McGarvey Commons at 10 p.m.
