There have been some notable trades and free agent signings this NFL offseason. With the season just ending about a month ago, teams are wasting no time in upgrading their rosters for next season. Just this month, a lot of moves have been made which have people talking. Starting with the Baltimore Ravens, Michael Crabtree reportedly signed a three year deal worth $21 million. The deal reportedly guarantees him $11 million, with another $15 million coming over the next two seasons. The 30-year-old wide receiver was released from the Oakland Raiders after the season. Crabtree was known well for being a red zone threat as a part of the Oakland offense. It should be interesting to see how things pan out in Baltimore with Joe Flacco and company.

In Los Angeles, the Rams made an impressive pick up by grabbing cornerback Aqib Talib and further improving their secondary and defense overall. He reportedly signed a deal for two years worth $19 million. Talib has been premier cornerback in the league for quite some time, which will help the Rams contend for another NFL West crown. He has a knack for baiting quarterbacks, returning interceptions for scores and being one of the best pass defenders in the league. Although the Rams picked up Talib, they dealt linebacker Alec Ogletree to the New York Giants, which was more of a money dump than anything. The Rams had signed Ogletree to a four-year extension worth $42.8 million last October, so they have some cap space to work with now to pick up other free agents.

Also making headlines, the Seahawks traded premier defensive end Michael Bennett to the defending Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles have been known for being aggressive during the offseason, filling gaps in their roster to better help their defense. This may be one of the reasons they won the Super Bowl this past season, as they had some big offseason pickups last season. Bennett will be a great addition to the eagles defense, be on the lookout for him next season.

Free agent Kirk Cousins was also picked up by the Minnesota Vikings this past week. Cousins signed a three year deal worth a whopping $84 million. Cousins brings an intelligent mindset and quality football prouous to the Vikings, which is something they needed after losing Teddy Bridgewater, who signed with the Jets, Case Keenum, who signed with the Broncos and Sam Bradford, who signed with the Arizona Cardinals. This move comes after what felt like months of contemplation and evaluation on Cousin’s part, as he was seeking the best situation possible. With the NFL Free Agency period just getting started, there are likely more blockbuster moves to come.
