From 1997 to 2004, Steve Irwin charmed audiences on “The Crocodile Hunter,” showing the world his passion for wildlife and conservation. His tragic passing in 2006 due to a stingray attack was shocking to his fans, but had an even deeper impact on his family, who continued to run the Australia Zoo and it’s nonprofit, Wildlife Warriors, to carry on his legacy.

The Wildlife Warriors were established in 2002 by Steve and Terri Irwin, described on the Wildlife Warrior website as “as a way to include and involve other caring people in the protection of injured, threatened or endangered wildlife.” It has helped to create the Steve Irwin Wildlife Reserve, an area of untouched Australian wilderness more than twice the size of Singapore. The Wildlife Warriors also work on a variety of conservation efforts, among which include strengthening security in Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Kenya to help protect black rhinos, providing farmers with non-lethal ways to prevent predation on theirs farms to help cheetah populations, and preventing habitat destruction in Cambodia to protect elephant populations.

The Irwin family’s work has focused mostly on animal care and conservation over the years, until recently Bindi Irwin, Steve Irwin’s daughter, posted on her Twitter, “I am so happy to announce that our brand new Animal Planet series will be airing on October 28th.  We can’t wait to share our story with you as we continue Dad’s important work. This feels like a beautiful new life chapter. I hope to see you there.”

The series, titled ‘Crikey! It’s the Irwins!”, will focus on the Australia Zoo and the Wildlife Warriors, according to Today, and will air on the same channel that “The Crocodile Hunter” once had. Specific details about the show aren’t yet available, but Animal Planet has already given it the catchphrase “Khaki is back” in its trailers.

Terri Irwin spoke to Today about the upcoming show, saying, “It seems like it’s been way more than 11 years [since Irwin’s death], and in some ways the blink of an eye. It’s a bizarre little time warp you get into when you’re dealing with grief, but we’re glad to be back.”

This news comes just a few months after Steve Irwin was honored with his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Terri Irwin described the significance to Time, stating, “Steve always said that he hoped his message of conservation would live on forever. It means the world to us that Steve’s memory will live on in so many ways.”
