Rihanna’s beauty brand—Fenty Beauty just stepped up a floor with their newly released product on April 6. Fenty Beauty is a relatively new brand which was first launched in September 2016, yet it has broken so many records during a short period of time. According to the data from Slice Intelligence, the first month’s sale of Fenty Beauty equals five times of the sale of Kylie Cosmetics, which was created by fellow A-list  celebrity Kylie Jenner. Sales have even increased 34% in the flowing month. Riri has been killing the beauty industry with Fenty Beauty.

Fenty Beauty has 40 different shades of foundations which is suitable for everyone because of the extensive variety of color. Interestingly, there is only one color for lip gloss, which is considered to be the most beloved beauty product. Unlike other companies which are trying to make more and more lip gloss to meet consumer’s demand, Riri says that she wants to create a color that is perfect for every skin color. Hence the creation of he “Gloss Bomb Universal” a rose nude shade Fenty’s website claims works for every tone.

For people who love to play with colors, Fenty Beauty’s lipsticks are more than attractive because the line-up includes not only the traditional colors many brands offer, but also colors like blue or purple which are not so common for lipsticks. The lipsticks collection meets the consumer’s needs and demand. The highlighters and the multi-functional sticks with great instagrammable packaging are also popular among not only Riri’s fans, but also beauty lovers.

It is disputable that Riri is a smart business woman that has seized an opportunity open to the beauty community. The newest products of Fenty Beauty are all about shimmer. Riri first posted her newest products on Instagram which, of course, got attention immediately. The ultra-shimmery liquid body luminizer and glittering pom pom  — which were named Body Lava and the Fairy Bomb, respectively. The Fairy Bomb is an innovative new product- a plush round, snowball-like design with stunning shimmer on the inside satisfied almost everyone. It is the perfect time to launch the duo, since summer is right around the corner and who doesn’t want to have a glowing look? And this time it’s not only the face but also the body, you get covered by Riri! And the high quality of her product is also the reason why people love spending their money at Fenty Beauty.

Riri is obviously not the only celebrity involving in the beauty industry. Kylie Jenner created her own beauty brand Kylie Cosmetics because of her passion for makeup, and Kylie cosmetics' sale reached 4 hundred million dollars within 18 months. She launched her lipkit collection on December 13, 2017, and it was sold out on the exact day it was launched. Kim Kardashian also revealed her own beauty brand KKW Beauty on June 21, 2017. Jeffree Star, a huge beauty influencer on YouTube, had his own beauty collection and is extremely successful as well. It seems like the trend for  beauty influencers and celebrities is to start their own beauty brand.

Some concern also arises because of this phenomenon,  people are concerned about the quality of the product, and they are afraid that the celebrities are simply using their fame to “fool” consumers. The only way for those brands to survive in the long-run is not only relied on the attention they got from the public because of the creators, but also the high quality of the actual product. The good reputation is the only way for a brand to survive no matter what the industry.
