Chicken Scream Review

Were you one of the thousands that loved, but also totally hated, Flappy Bird? Or someone who was so excited for Super Mario Run to come out on Apple devices, until you realized only the first few levels were free? Well, Chicken Scream just might be a perfect game for you… if you also like screaming at your phone. (Let’s be honest, though, if you liked Flappy Bird then you were already screaming at your phone.)

The idea behind the game is pretty simple: you have to talk or sing quietly to make the chicken walk, and scream to make the chicken jump. You have to go through a course while collecting coins and jumping over cliffs and other obstacles. That part of the game is really not much different than Mario or a lot of other games. The design and frustration of the game feels very reminiscent of Flappy Bird, so take that as you will. What sets this apart is that you have to scream to make it work. While this makes it a game that really shouldn’t be played in public, it also makes it something that is hilarious to watch other people play. Many people on platforms across the internet have figured this out, so it’s not shocking if you’re reading this and realizing that you were just scrolling through Twitter and watched a video of someone playing this game, or watched a recommended video on YouTube of someone playing this game.

Chicken Scream includes a few in-game features that enhance your gaming experience. One of those is the ability to win and buy (with the coins you collect during the game) different chickens to play with. You also have the ability to adjust the microphones sensitivity so you either don’t have to scream as loud, or you have to scream really loud, to make the chicken move and jump.

If this sounds like something that you’ve got to have, then it can be downloaded for free today on the App Store and GooglePlay. Once you start playing, however, you might not be able to stop.
