The pledge is sacred

Since we are talking about the pledge of allegiance, let us first discuss the origin of religion.

According to Ancient.eu, 4,000 BCE was the earliest recording of faith. In 391 CE  Christianity becomes the official religion of empire. Nine of the thirteen colonies established churches. There were protestants, Quakers, etc., whom were all believed to “possess faith in Jesus Christ,” as written on Heritage.org. Colonists of European descent practiced the laws, and the Constitution was influenced by Christianity. That is our Constitution. Basically religion was created over 30,000 years ago.

The Pledge of Allegiance was written in August of 1892 by Francis Bellamy, and was published a month later in “The Youth’s Companion.” The original Pledge of Allegiance read:

“I Pledge Allegiance to my flag and the republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

In 1923 “ the flag of the United States of America” was added to the Pledge of Allegiance. In 1954 President Eisenhower urged the U.S. to add “under God” to the Pledge of Allegiance because of a communist threat. These facts can be found on, US history.org. This Nation was supposed to be a safe place to practice religion but now we’re all abusing our freedom of speech.

So on to the question, “should we take out “under God” from the Pledge? No I do not, this is what our ancestors based years and years of their lives on. Now all of a sudden it is not good enough? Honestly the Pledge of Allegiance is mainly a sign of respect for this Country. Respect for your ancestors who fought hard so you have the freedom to express your opinions like the Big Bang Theory.

You do not want people forcing their beliefs on you, so do not do it to others. Man up, bite your tongue, stand up to the Pledge, and pay respect to your country.
