Pratt and Faris split

“Life is too short to be with someone who doesn’t have your back,” actress Anna Faris admitted to People magazine after news of the divorce to heartthrob star, Chris Pratt, broke the hearts of many supportive fans.

The once “perfect” couple called it quits earlier this month, which stirred a surprised response from several fans who followed their, what appeared to be, happy marriage of eight years. The split between the two falls behind their differences in their vision and work, as Faris wishes to have more kids and settle down, while Pratt is driven on continuing to work in the spotlight due to his career taking off as of late. On August 6, Pratt announced the heartbreaking news to social media with, “Anna and I are sad to announce we are legally separating. We tried hard for a long time, and we're really disappointed.” The couple followed with, "Our son has two parents who love him very much and for his sake we want to keep this situation as private as possible moving forward.”

Hollywood’s darling couple met on the set of romantic comedy, “Take Me Home Tonight,” in 2007, where they played love interests. They immediately hit it off and got engaged a year later before marrying in summer of 2009. At the time, Faris was the more popular star, having appeared in several successful comedies as the ditzy blonde in  “House Bunny,” “Scary Movie,” and “The Hot Chick.” Pratt, on the other hand, had just entered the world of Hollywood with only a few small roles in fairly obscure movies. His ultimate fame was born with his hilarious role in “Parks and Recreation.”

However, the once chubby, funny guy from “Parks and Rec,” began to lose the fat and gain the muscle as he fitted up for his central role in “Guardians of the Galaxy,” in 2014.  From there on, Pratt’s fame began to rise quickly as he also snatched a central role in “Jurassic World,” a year later as well as, “The Magnificent Seven,” a year after that.

Pratt’s once unfamiliar face next to Faris at premiere shows was now the face of Hollywood stardom. However, Pratt’s successful career began to cut into his marriage with Faris.

By 2016, Faris became worrisome of her husband’s fame. PostPopular shared Fari’s doubts on her husband’s career. “The other day I was picking up our son Jack from his preschool and there was some paparazzi. That doesn’t happen very often,” Faris said. “When Chris is around and in town it’s different, but Jack waved at them and said, ‘Cheese!'”

In December of 2016, Pratt starred in romantic thriller, “Passengers,” with leading actress, Jennifer Lawrence. The role forced Pratt to begin production just one day after finishing up“Magnificent Seven.” The shooting process took several months, in which the distance apart became a hindrance to the couple’s personal lives. “I’ve been on the road for a long time,” Pratt admitted. “I really have been lacking human contact.”

Pratt admitted to growing very close to co-star, Lawrence, during the long months of shooting “Passengers.” Although Faris came to visit her husband with their son during shooting, she still felt something missing. The media began to off-set Fari’s insecurities with the rumors of the pair’s flirtatious nature on set. “I felt incredibly insecure,” She admitted. “I thought maybe there’s a kernel of truth to that.”

Faris admitted on her own podcast, “Unqualified,” the thought of her husband cheating on her with Lawrence would to be too much to bear. “I just remember feeling so hurt in a way that bothered me because I didn’t want to think of myself as somebody that could be affected by tabloid s***.”

The couple plan to protect their son, Jack, 5, from the pain of separating parents. According to TMZ, the couple are taking the divorce slow, with Pratt reportedly still residing in the Hollywood Hill’s home with Faris. Pratt sticks to family and faith as he was reportedly seen for the first time since the split at church with his son on his hip, a ringless hand, and Faris nowhere in sight.

Although us devastated fans may feel as if love is officially dead, Pratt and Faris both said in a joint statement to US Weekly, “We still love each other and will always cherish our time together and continue to have the deepest respect for one another.”
