What does your handwriting say about you?

Did you know that your handwriting could reflect you personality and mood? Some common handwriting traits include: the size of the letters, spacing between words, looping in some letters, the shape of some letters, slanting, and your signature.

When it comes to the sizing of letters, writing letters bigger or smaller attribute to your personality. Someone who tends to write bigger letters is perceived as outgoing, candid, and friendly. In other words big letters lead to big personalities. When your letters are smaller, it leads researchers to believe that you are preserved, organized, shy, and conservative. The in-between sizes of letters mean that you are balanced, and well adjusted.

Even spacing can be an indicator of how you feel. When the spacing between words is wider you like to be free and do not want to feel overwhelmed. When the spacing is narrow, it tends to mean that you do not like solidarity, and become invasive in order to avoid it.

Whenever any letters have loops in them there are two types of loops: narrow & wide. Narrow loops tend to be restricting and mean that you are skeptical of those around you. When wider loops are used, someone is calmer and open-minded.

All letters have a different shape, the most common are pointed, rounded, and connected. Pointed letters are very structured, considered more intelligent, and intense. Scholars normally use pointed letters. While rounded letters are considered creative and imaginative, someone who is artistic typically uses them. On the other hand, connected letters (cursive) are used when one is in a hurry or when one is trying to impress through their writing.

When people do not slant their letters, it means that they are thinking logically and do not let their emotions drive them. When there is slanting to the right, you are outgoing and open to meeting new people and having adventurous experiences. While letters slanting to the left mean that you are reserved and shy therefore prefer to keep to yourself.

Finally, the signature, it can be messy and illegible or neat and legible. When signatures are eligible, it shows that one is confident and comfortable in their own skin. While illegible signatures show that one is private and would rather keep to themselves.

Whether you are outgoing or reserved, your writing may reflect how you feel a certain day. Now whenever you are writing you will have an idea of how your emotions are expressed through your writing and become more aware of it.
